Our Craniofacial Team

Certified by the American Cleft Palate Association, our craniofacial team is made up of experienced, caring professionals from 12 different specialties, all with one, singular focus - providing superior, personalized care for your child. Contact us to find out what makes the Mercy Craniofacial Team so special.

The Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Team at Mercy Children’s Hospital is under the medical directorship of Earl Gage, MD. Established over 10 years ago by Dr. Jeffrey Marsh, an internationally renowned craniofacial surgeon and mentor to many of our team members, our experienced, interdisciplinary team of specialists continues to build upon Dr. Marsh's legacy by providing expert, personalized care for infants, children and adults with clefts and craniofacial problems.  We are committed to caring for patients from birth to adulthood and feel it is important to care for the whole patient.  In some instances, our care begins even before a child is born by providing prenatal consultation to expectant parents who learn that their unborn baby has a cleft or craniofacial condition.

Our cleft and craniofacial team includes specialists who have experience and training with cleft lip/palate and craniofacial anomalies and have previously participated in interdisciplinary team care.  Represented specialties include:

  •  Audiology
  • Genetic Counseling
  • Neurosurgery
  • Orthodontics
  • Pediatric Dentistry
  • Pediatric Nursing
  • Pediatric Ophthalmology
  • Pediatric Otolaryngology
  • Pediatric Psychology
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Speech/Language Pathology
  • Social Work.

Following every team evaluation, we will create an individualized plan for your child and then forward a comprehensive report to all of your child’s health care providers.  We will also include an interpretive summary letter to parents and to older patients.  We believe this team approach provides excellent continuity of care, improves communication and increases the overall quality of care for your child.

If you are interested in meeting our team and finding out more about our team approach to caring for your child,  please contact Dana Kiley, our Cleft Lip/Palate and Craniofacial Deformities Team Coordinator at 314-251-6581.  Perinatal feeding consultation for neonates is available by contacting DeAnn Wilson, our Cleft Lip/Palate Team Nurse Practitioner at 314-657-7172.
